One Piece Faces a New Type of Piracy
|The ITmedia News reports that Japanese publisher Shueisha is now facing a serious new variety of threat from digital piracy – specifically manga leaked to YouTube. New weekly chapters of artist Eichiro Oda’s popular manga series One Piece, scanned from the pages of Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, have begun appearing on YouTube as slide-show videos a day to several days before new issues of the magazine officially go on sale. Shueisha is reportedly sending take-down notices to YouTube and investigating further responses to this new, emerging threat to legitimate, authorized commercial manga distribution.

heh, that’s just bizarre. Can you imagine, say, full pages of Captain America showing up on youtube a month before the comic goes on sale here in the US?
RWG (One Piece fans must be crazy nuts over this thing)
