To refresh your memory or introduce you to an interesting opening animation sequence, I offer the opening of the 1995 Gunsmith Cats OVA series. The opening theme is “Gunsmith Cats Theme” performed by Peter Erskine.

Very slick opening. Looks like it could be made in the 00s! Reminds me of the Cowboy Bebop opener.
Seanny, don’t forget Riding Bean. Like Gunsmith Cats it’s a Sonada work, set in Chicago and has a jazzy soundtrack. Even Rally Vincent is in it, although an early version of her (she’s Caucasian with blond hair).
