To refresh your memory or introduce you to an interesting opening animation sequence, I submit the stylish opening of the 1973 Ace o Nerae! TV series. The opening theme is “Ace wo Nerae!” performed by Kumiko Ohsugi.

That’s definitely stylish. Those glittery 1970s eye designs comprise a serious nostalgia bomb, but it’s certainly a great opening. I also think recognize the title from an older discussion on the history of sports anime; looks like fun.
