Opening A Day
Although not especially unknown or forgotten, here’s a reminder that 2003’s Gunslinger Girl has an exceptionally well composed opening animation sequence. The theme song is The Delgados’ “The Light Before We Land.”

I remember that it took me a while to warm up to this opening animation, but after watching this series and the newer version (2009), I think I like this one better. (The 2009 take on the GUNSLINGER GIRL stories is a far better series, though.)
