Original Ring Coming To America

Universal Studios has announced that Hideo Nakata’s original 1998 suspense/horror film “Ring” will be released in America on Tuesday March 4th under the romanized title “Ringu,” coinciding with the American sell-through DVD release of the recent American re-make of the film, “The Ring.”

Ringu will retail for $29.99 and feature a new widescreen digital film-to-video transfer and a new 5.1 Japanese Digital Surround audio mix with English subtitles.

The Ring DVD will retail for $19.95 and feature an all-new 15-minute experimental short film created by director Gore Verbinski exclusively for the video release.
