Ozuma Anime Scheduled

WOWOW has announced that creator Leiji Matsumoto’s original sci-fi adventure anime television series Ozuma will premiere on March 16. The six-episode series was originally conceived in the 1980s but never produced. The project is now being produced to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the WOWOW satellite TV network. Takahiro Ikezoe (Arad Senki) will direct with Votoms & Gasaraki creator Ryousuke Takahashi serving as executive director. Nobuteru Yuki (X, Escaflowne, Lodoss War) will contribute original character & concept designs.

Considering that the quality of Matsumoto’s TV anime varies wildly, let’s hope this one leans toward the positive end of the scale.
