Pocket Monsters: The Origin to Premiere in October
The Pocket Monsters: The Origin anime television series will premiere on October 2. The show will be based on the 1996 Game Boy games Pokémon Red & Pokémon Blue, the later of which was released in North America as “Pokémon Green.”
Pocket Monsters: The Origin will be a separate parallel series to the Pocket Monsters XY television series scheduled to premiere on October 17.

Bit of a mistake there with which version came to the US and which in Japan.
If I remember right, Pocket Monster Green Version was released in Japan alongside Red. Blue Version was released as the third version that comes along every generation. When it came time for US release, they used the JPN Blue version as the basis for the us Pokemon Red & Blue. Green was never released in the US until Leafgreen, the remake was released.
I’d also like to add that this isn’t going to be a television anime series but a two hour special.
