Premiere Date For Mamoru Oshii’s Avalon

This year’s Tokyo International Film Festival is the stage for the world premiere of Avalon, a new, non-anime, live action & CG science fiction film directed and supervised by Mamoru Oshii, director of Ghost In The Shell. Avalon will screen at the festival in Shibuya on November 4th. Digital audio and video effects are widely featured in the movie; a Dolby Digital 6.1 channel surround sound EX soundtrack has been produced for the film. The primary music composer for the Patlabor movie is producing the music for Avalon with the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra performing. The film is scheduled to go to a wide release in Japan at the beginning of the new year.
