Psychic Detective Yakumo Anime Announced

Reportedly the January issue of Newtype magazine, which goes on sale in Japan this week, will formally announce that studio Bee Train (.Hack, Tsubasa Chronicle) will produce an anime adaptation of Manabu Kaminaga’s Psychic Detective Yakumo (Shinrei Tantei Yakumo) novel series. Tomoyuki Kurokawa (Murder Princess) will direct. Hiroyuki Kawasaki (Blade of the Immortal, Ryoko’s Case File) will write the screenplay. The ongoing novel series about a red-eyed detective who can see spirits premiered in 2004 and now has 9 books, a 2006 live action TV drama, and two manga adaptations.
