RSI Announcements from Anime Central

Right Stuf International announced at last weekend’s Anime Central convention that they have acquired the English language translation and distribution license to the entire Comic Party anime TV series- the 13 TV episodes and 4 short “Special” episodes. Based on a PC and Dreamcast game, the Comic Party TV series from last summer is a story about a Japanese high-school age boy who becomes immersed in the Japanese doujinshi (fan produced comics) and anime fandom scene. The series was long thought of as never destined for American release because of its heavy emphasis on Japanese culture and society and its extensive parodies and references to other anime shows and characters, especially those owned by Leaf and KSS Studios.
