Rumors of Sega’s Demise Greatly Exaggerated

Sega of Japan has announced a multitude of new titles either in development or soon to begin production for the Dreamcast. IGN.Dreamcast has a full list of the titles announced by Sega, but notable entries include House of the Dead 3, Space Channel Five 2, Crazy Taxi 2, Get Bass 2, and Far Nation, an on-line RPG that will differ from other multi-player RPGs in that the actions of a single player may affect the entire world that thousands of players are simultaneously logged in to.

Capcom has stated that they have no plans to localize their serial RPG El Dorado Gate for the American market, but according to rumor, the game series may be coming to the US from a yet unidentified publisher. El Dorado Gate, similar to Shenmue, is a single story, released in multiple small installments, or chapters, each of which may be played individually, in any order. The third chapter of this hand-drawn 2D RPG featuring character design by Yoshitaka Amano, is scheduled for release in Japan on February 3, for the very reasonable price of 2800 yen.
