Saeko Himuro Dead at 51

Author Saeko Himuro, best known to American anime fans as the author of the Umi ga Kikoeru novel, adapted into a 1995 anime television special by Studio Ghibli, passed away at 9 AM on Friday, June 6th. Himuro was 51 years old and had been suffering from lung cancer.
