Sakuran Boy DT Anime Announced

An official website, with a streaming trailer, has launched to announce the January 14 premiere of the 11 episode Sakuran Boy DT anime television series. The series of weekly five minute long Flash animation episodes is being promoted as “Japan’s first” anime TV series about a local costumed hero character.

The Sakuran Boy DT story revolves around Sato-kun, an ordinary high school boy who transforms into Sakuran Boy DT to rescue the mayor’s daughter from the nefarious secret society Zaou. The title “Sakuran Boy DT” is a wordplay on the Japanese translation for “cherry boy” — Japanese slang for a male virgin – and the name of the Sakuranbo television network in the northeastern Japanese city of Yamagata that will broadcast the series.
