Sammy’s Hard Boiled to be Expanded into Anime & Manga

Sammy’s line of “Hard Boiled” themed arcade slot machines will get a new release in November titled “Hard Boiled: Mirage of the Griffon.” The new game will continue the hardboiled story of rogue gunslinger “Johnny” from the “Hard Boiled 2” game originally released in 2001. More relevant to anime fans, the original anime footage displayed in the “Mirage of the Griffon” arcade game will be released on October 10th in a complete form as “HardBoiled the Movie.” Grenadier creator Sousuke Kaise will also create a serialized manga adaptation of the “Mirage of the Griffon” story. The manga will premier in the October issue of Comic Charge magazine.

The Hard Boiled: Mirage of the Griffon official website now hosts a lengthy trailer for the arcade game which includes extensive footage of the anime (click the website’s “PV” button to access). The website also hosts a seperate trailer specifically promoting the “Hard Boiled the Movie” anime (click the website’s “HardBoiled THE MOVIE!!” button to access).
