Seminal Films to Release ICE Movie

Los Angeles & Alberta, Canada, based distributor Seminal Films has announced plans for a domestic release of the 2008 Ice movie edition, in collaboration with MVD Entertainment. Last month Texas based Sentai Filmworks released the original 2007 three-episode OVA version of the sci-fi action anime. The three episodes were combined into the Ice Gekijouban feature film originally released in Japan on November 29, 2008. Seminal Films will release the movie edit on American DVD on January 24.

I’m surprised to see another licensor pick up this particular title, I’m equally surprised to see so much of the American fan community seemingly unaware that a movie version existed since a “raw” of the movie version has been floating around in the American online community for several years now.
