Several Anime Movies Getting Limited Theatrical Screenings

For only the second time ever, Disney’s dub of Laputa: Castle in the Sky will be getting a theatrical screening. (The film’s only other American theatrical presentation was a one time showing at the New York Children’s Film Festival three years ago.) The classic Miyazaki film will at play once at the Newport Beach Film Festival in Newport Beach, California, on Saturday, April 6th.

In commemoration of its successful DVD release, the Escaflowne movie will be screened theatrically once at the Washington Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington DC on March 29th, once at the Seattle Seven Gables/Landmark Theatres in Seattle, Washington on April 18th, and twice at the Cleveland Institute of Art in Cleveland, Ohio on May 1st and 2nd.
