Shigeru Mizuki Ghost Stories TV Movie Scheduled
|The “Shigeru Mizuki no Gegege no Kaidan” (Shigeru Mizuki’s Gegege Ghost Stories) two-hour live-action TV special will air on the Fuji TV network on the 31. The special will feature adaptations of four horror manga stories from Gegege no Kitaro creator Shigeru Mizuki. The stories will be “Sunakake Babaa” (sand-throwing hag), “Yokai Makuragaeshi” (Pillow-returning Creature) based on Mizuki’s 1969 manga, “Fushichou o Kau Otoko” (The Man who Kept a Phoenix as a Pet) based on Mizuki’s 1964 manga, and “Einin no Tsubo” (Jar from the Einin Era) based on Mizuki’s 1961 manga story. The Gegege no Kitaro characters “Neko-Musume” (played by Aoi Morikawa) and “Medama Oyaji” (voiced by Bin Shimada) will introduce the stories.
