Sony Announces PS2 Online Plans for US

Sony has revealed that the PS2 network adaptor will debut in the US in August and retail for $39.99. The network adaptor will plug into the PS2 and allow for internet connectivity through dial-up or broadband connections. At the same time Sony will debut at least a dozen new internet multi-play compatible PS2 games in America including Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3, Tribes: Aerial Assault, and Twisted Metal Online.

The Sony online network and domestic PS2 hard drive are expected to be available by year’s end. The PS2 hard drive is already available in Japan.
