Stand Alone Complex DVD 1 Release Scheduled

Manga Entertainment has officially announced that the first DVD volume of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex will be released domestically on July 27th.

The first DVD will be released in a standard edition that contains 4 episodes presented in anamorphic widescreen with Dolby Digital 5.1 English & Japanese surround sound, English subtitles, and interviews with director Kenji Kamiyama and Atsuko Tanaka (Japanese voice of Motoko), trailers and weblinks. The standard edition DVD 1 will retail at $24.95.

The first DVD will also be released in a Special Edition 3 disc set that includes the regular disc with Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound, a second disc that features the same episodes with DTS 5.1 surround sound, and a series soundtrack CD. The special edition DVD 1 will retail at $59.95.

The 26 episode series will be released bi-monthly and presented on seven DVD volumes over the next year along with a subsequent U.S. cable television broadcast on Cartoon Network.
