Superman: Shogun of Steel

Writer Ben Raab has told Comics Continuum that he and artist Jose Justiniano will be producing a 64 page Elseworld (alternate universe) Superman story for DC Comics titled Superman: Shogun of Steel. The story will focus on the efforts of an orphaned girl and a wandering ronin to seek both vengeance and peace “in the wake of their families’ deaths at the hands of [the tyrannical] extraterrestrial Shogun of Steel.”

Said Raab, “It’s an epic adventure which attempts to synthesize the larger-than-life-yet-down-to-earth storytelling of Akira Kurosawa, the magic and mysticism of Hayao Miyazaki, and the mighty kung fu funk of Ang Lee (of recent Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon fame).”
