Teletoon Launches Six Channels

Teletoon, the Canadian equivalent of Cartoon Network, will be launching six new channels for the Canadian Market. Nelvana, Cinar, The (Canadian) Family Channel, and YTV, owners of the network, are creating these specialty networks for both English and French speaking viewers, and they are:

• TELETOON Adult for more mature, adult animation
• TELETOON Art for the artsy, indy animation made famous throughout Canada, kinda like the shorts seen on Oh! Canada on Cartoon Network
• TELETOON Pop for the popular shows that have made an impact on both sides of the border
• TELETOON Retro for classic animation from the old Hollywood studios and the golden age of television animation, like what Boomerang is
• TELETOON Multi a bilingual network
• TELETOON Action all action animation, including anime
