The Wind Rises to Hit America on February 21

Studio Ghibli’s International Division chief executive Geoffrey Wexler announced yesterday that director Hayao Miyazaki’s latest and reportedly final feature film, Kaze Tachinu (The Wind Rises), will screen in New York and Los Angeles from November 8 to 14 in order to qualify for Oscar nomination, and will then open in limited North American theatrical release on February 21 in both subtitled and dubbed formats. The biography of Zero fighter designer Jiro Horikoshi has held the number one box office position in Japan for eight straight weeks since its July 20th premiere.
