Toei Seeks Fan Input on DVD Releases

Japanese anime production company Toei, responsible for some of the most popular of all anime series, including St. Seiya, Sailormoon, Captain Harlock, Dragonball and Devilman, has opened a poll on-line to allow fans to suggest Toei titles they’d like to see Toei release on DVD. Many of Toei’s popular series, including One Piece, Oja Maru Doremi, and Digimon, have been released on DVD in Japan while others, including Hana Yori Dango, Dragonball, Sailormoon, Jigoku Sensei Nube and St. Seiya, have not. St. Seiya International is urging fans to fill out Toei’s poll and show support for a Japanese DVD release for St. Seiya. The poll is entirely in Japanese, and only effects the Japanese market, but Westerners submitting responses may show Toei that there is an thriving, interested market for their anime productions outside of Japan.
