Tokyopop Announcements from Anime Expo
|The Vampire Miyu and St. Tail TV series will debut at the end of August and will be released bi-monthly with 3 episodes on each DVD at $29.99 per disc. Vampire Miyu will consist of 8-9 DVDs and St. Tail will require roughly 15 DVDs.
Remastered, replacement copies of Spring and Chaos should be ready in 2-3 weeks.
Tokyopop has the American rights to release domestic version soundtracks for Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy 4 & 10, Trigun “Spicy Donut,” Bubblegum Crisis 2040, and Vampire Miyu.
Tokyopop will start a “J-Idols” line, featuring Japan’s “Most Beautiful Women.” 3 DVDs will be released in September featuring “Yuka,” J-pop star Kyoko Fukada, and swimsuit clad Japanese automobile “race queens.” The DVDs will include photo galleries, music videos, virtual dates, video messages, behind scenes footage, and personal profiles.
The Paradise Kiss, Planet Ladder, and Mars manga will all appear in Smile Magazine beginning in November.
The English language version of the Marmalade Boy manga will debut in November and the Kodomo no Omocha manga, which will be titled “Popstar Kodacha,” [Kodocha?] will premier in December. Both will be “unflipped.” The first 5 issues will be comic book size, then switch to graphic novel format for the rest.
Tokyopop has the American publication rights to the Gundam W Battlefield Pacifist, Endless Waltz, and G-Unit manga series.
The second graphic novel volume of Clover will be available in September. Most of their graphic novel releases will be sped up to 2-3 months between releases.
