Tonari no 801-chan Anime Production Canceled?

Despite Ohzora Publishing having announced just two weeks ago that Kyoto Animation would produce an anime series based on Ajico Kojima’s Tonari no 801-chan manga series, Ohzora Publishing has now removed the references to the anime series from its website. Likewise, the TBS television network no longer hosts the series website that it launched two weeks ago.

Reportedly the official blog of the Misonobashi 801 Shopping Center’s Yaoi-chan mascot — the green furry creature that plays a central role in the Tonari no 801-chan manga – announced on August 27th that the development of the Tonari no 801-chan anime had been placed on indefinite hiatus. Shortly later that blog post was deleted.
