Transforming Valkyries Return

Bandai of Japan has announced that they will be re-releasing the original Macross transforming VF-1J Valkyrie toy this December! Originally manufactured by now-defunct Takatoku Toys in 1982, Bandai seems to have acquired the remaining stock of these high quality die-cast steel and ABS plastic action figure toys, and will re-issue them at a retail price of 6,800 yen each. The valkyrie toy is completely poseable and fully tansformable between battroid, GERWALK and fighter modes without removing any body pieces. The markings of the body, originally decals, will now be painted on the toy. These figures are scheduled for Japanese release at the very end of December and probably won’t be available through American importers until January 2002. Supplies will be limited, but AnimeNation will strive to import these toys and fill all orders.
