TRSI Announces Boogiepop Phantom

Right Stuf International has announced that the 13 episodes horror anime Boogiepop Phantom will be released later this year but first premier in excerpts at several conventions including Anime Expo and Montreal’s Fantasia Film Festival.

Produced by Triangle Staff as a follow up to Serial Experiments Lain, the avant garde and thoroughly atmospheric series was directed by Watanabe Takashi (Slayers), based on a series of award-winning novels by Ueno Kouhei.

According to Kris Kleckner of TRSI, “It’s very lainesk and I think that a lot of people are really going to like it.”
