TV Asahi Acquires Shin-ei Animation

The TV Asahi broadcast network has advanced 2.995 billion yen (about US $28.5 million) in capital to acquire a controlling 90% interest in the Shin-ei Animation production studio. Shin-ei Animation has produced numerous popular anime titles including Haré+Guu, Warau Salesman, and Atashin’chi, but is best known as the studio behind the Crayon Shin-chan & Doraemon anime series. TV Asahi broadcasts Shin-ei Animation’s Crayon Shin-chan, Doraemon, and Atashi’n chi series, and the annual senso dowa television movies.
