Universal Licenses Brotherhood of the Wolves
|While this is only extremely remotely anime related, it is, nonetheless, quite cool. Universal has obtained the license to theatrically the French period piece horror/action film Brotherhood of the Wolves (Le Pacte Des Loups) in American theaters. The film co-stars Mark Dacascos and is written and directed by French director Christophe Gans. The film has received rave reviews from critics and has been a smash hit in its native country. Christophe Gans and Mark Dacascos previously worked together in the superb Canadian live-action adaptation of Crying Freeman, which was unfortunately never released in the US.
Since the official French movie site seems to be down, a streaming version of the movie trailer is available here.
