Updated Anime DVD News

According to a new press release from Media Blasters, contrary to previous reports, the five DVDs of the first season of Rayearth previously only available as part of the first Rayearth Memorial DVD boxed set, are currently available individually and will be shipping to retailers as individual disks immediately.

Media Blasters also announced several new DVD and VHS releases all hitting stores on August 28th. The graphic and violent ninja horror OAV Puppet Princess (Karakuri no Kimi) will premier on dubbed VHS and bilingual 40 minute long DVD for $19.95 and $24.95 respectively. Both episodes of Apocalypse Zero (Kakugo no Susume) will be released on a single bilingual DVD also retailing at $24.95, and Rurouni Kenshin volume 11: Faces of Evil, containing TV episodes 44-47 will retail for $24.95 on VHS and $29.95 on DVD. The live action features Reborn From Hell 2: Jubei’s Revenge, a VHS dub of Moon over Tao and a bilingual DVD version will also be available at $19.95 VHS and $29.95 DVD.

August 28th will also see the premier of the lesbian hentai OAV Stainless Night on subtitled VHS, VHS dubs of U-Jin’s “Tales” trilogy, Tales of Titillation, Tales of Misbehavior and Sintillation, and the release of both episodes of Bondage Queen Kate (Galaxy Police Kate) on a single dubbed VHS tape or bilingual DVD.
