US License for Berserk

The very engrossing and disturbing low fantasy series Berserk has been licensed by Urban Vision. According to Urban Vision, things are not yet finalized, and they will announce details when it is. The Official Dreamcast magazine is reporting the license and that the series is tentatively scheduled for an August release. The manga based anime series tells the story of Gatts (Gatsu, Gutts), a very adept swordsman who gets caught up in the ambitions of a mercenary leader named Griffith. Over of the course of the 25 episodes the series runs the gambit from medieval warfare to political and personal intrigue, and intimately into the deeply disturbing supernatural. The series has received a large fan following among those who have already seen the series. A Dreamcast game based on the events following the anime series was released in the US this spring.
