Vampire Hunter D Movie News

According to Jim Lazar’s report on Fanime Con from Anime on DVD’s forum, Urban Vision is reiterating that they are really pushing the new Vampire Hunter D movie. They hope to get it into wider release than Princess Mononoke: into at least the top 8 domestic theatrical markets, and hopefully the top 20. The film will have its wide release premiers in Japan and Korea on the 21st, and in the US probably in late summer. (September was mentioned).

A DVD release is likely for Christmas with tons of extras since Urban Vision has been involved from the beginning with the production. The dialogue for the film was originally produced in English, to appeal to an international market, so the Japanese and Korean releases will be in English with Japanese/Korean subtitles. The American DVD release will include the original English dialogue and a Japanese dubbed track with English subtitles.
