Viz to Promote Yu-Gi-Oh with PETA

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has announced a partnership with Viz to promote kindness to animals through Yu-Gi-Oh. Apparently Yami Yugi, main character of Yu-Gi-Oh, “can be tough when he needs to be. But the animated hero also has a soft spot for animals.” Shonen Jump Magazine Vice President Yumi Hoashi states, “Yugi from Yu-Gi-Oh! is a role model for young people today, and we think he can help them realize that being cruel isn’t cool, but sticking up for animals is.”

Visitors to PETA’s TeachKind website can read an interview with Yu-Gi-Oh! creator Kazuki Takahashi, order a free limited-edition Yu-Gi-Oh poster, and enter a contest to win an exclusive and original Yu-Gi-Oh! illustration signed by Takahashi.
