Yasuhiro Nightow Does Video Games

While there have been no plans announced for any new animation based on Yasuhiro Nightow manga, Sega Smilebit and Red Company have been developing two of the manga creator’s titles into video games. (Red Company may be best known for producing the Sakura Taisen games.) GunGrave will premier on the Japanese Playstation 2 this July. The Magic Box has several screen-shots of the third-person perspective 3D action/shooting game. According to The Magic Box Red and Smilebit will also be developing a Trigun 3D action/adventure game for the Japanese PS2 and Xbox.

GameSpot has published a brief hands-on preview of GunGrave. The GameSpot article mentions that the game’s character designs are by creator Yasuhiro Nightow while the mecha designs are provided by Ah! My Goddess creator Kousuke Fujishima. The 3D game includes traditional 2D anime FMV sequences.
