Yasuomi Umetsu Happy with Live-Action Kite Movie
arlier this month anime character designer & director Yasuomi Umetsu posted word on his blog that he’s seen the Cannes Film Festival teaser trailer for director Ralph Ziman’s live-action film adaptation of Umetsu’s cult-classic 1998 OVA series A-Kite. Umetsu reports that the tone of the film feels a bit different from the anime, and that the violence appears to be very intense. Overall he seems very pleased & enthusiastic about the adaptation.
