Yu-Gi-Oh! Still a Winner for 4Kids

Within 4Kids’ Entertainment’s latest quarterly financial statement, which revealed a continuing revenue downturn, is the fact that the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise posted a small revenue increase during the quarter compared to the same period last year. 4Kids’ sales during the most recent quarter were down from $17.8 million last year to $7.3 million. 4Kids lost $5 million during the period, compared to a $5.3 million loss during the same period last year. Amid the losses, sales revenue for the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise was up slightly, and TV ratings for its programming block that includes Yu-Gi-Oh! episodes were up from the same time last year.
